PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
David Smith has sixteen years of consulting, management, and industrial engineering experience in a wide variety of industries. He has a proven track record of managing client relations, delivering quality project results, and providing a high degree of client satisfaction.
Throughout his career, Mr. Smith has gained several automotive clients. He worked with a client over a seven year period to develop six distribution centers to warehouse and distribute every truck part from rivets and washers to hoods and cabs. The projects involved analyzing data for over 20,000 SKUs in each location and determining appropriate storage mediums for each SKU. Furthermore, he has provided overall project management duties for bottling and canning line conversions. The latest involving the day-to-day on-site scheduling and management of fifteen different vendors and trade contractors over a eight week 24 hour per day seven day per week fast track conversion.
Mr. Smith's recent experience includes managing the relocation of a distribution center; managing the schedule, developing baseline processes, providing slotting tools, and creating system test cases to insure the 3PL's systems would interact properly with the client's ERP system. He has also been working with several oil and gas companies to determine realistic production improvement opportunities. Mr. Smith developed the methodology and tools which are utilized to quantify production improvement potential. In addition, Mr. Smith has been providing real estate portfolio analysis services, determining how to optimize client's real estate spend based on headcounts, functions, occupancy costs, lease expirations, new build costs, FF&E estimates, relocation costs, and information tracking through the use of integrated portfolio dashboards.
Select experience includes the Apparel/Textile, Automotive, Consumer Goods, Technology/Electronics, Retail Distribution, Government and Institutions, Industrial and General Manufacturing, and Chemical & Process industries.
EDUCATION:
Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
